About the Programme
What is IJMB?
IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board) is a nationally recognised Advanced Level (A-Level) programme administered by Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. It is the most widely accepted direct entry qualification in Nigeria, designed for candidates who want to gain university admission into 200 level without writing UTME.
The IJMB programme runs for nine months. Students study three A-Level subjects at an accredited IJMB study centre, then sit for the IJMB examination. A pass qualifies you for Direct Entry admission into over 200 federal, state, and private universities across Nigeria.
Unlike UTME, which places you at 100 level and requires scoring high in a highly competitive exam every year, IJMB places you directly into second year — saving you one full year of university and eliminating the uncertainty of repeated JAMB attempts.
